1960: In the International Exhibition of Belgium Maurice Vermersch presents his wife's waffle recipe called "Brussels' Waffle". For the first time the waffle is decorated with cream and strawberries.

1964: The same recipe is presented in the International New York Exhibition and its name changes to "Belgian Waffle".

2003: The first recipe of handmade, freshly baked waffle for Crete is presented by Vasilis Stathakis at Kipos cafe, with ingredients imported from France and Belgium.

2005: The first Waffle night in Greece was organized by Kipos cafe, within the Chania Municipal Garden.

2006: This particular waffle making method is patented in Greece under the title "Waffla's House" and can be franchised.
